Mixed Media Sketchbook focuses on variety and accessibility as a tool to explore creative ideas. Each student will work exclusively within sketchbooks to explore materials with a casual and fluid approach. Following a series of prompts, this course is designed to help each person eliminate creative obstacles. Touching on mediums like gouache, collage, printmaking, charcoal and more, this class aims to test what we use and how we use it. Great for struggling perfectionists!

Alison is a visual artist residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work revolves around themes of externalizing internal worlds, shared experiences, and personal history. Primarily using 2D mixed media, her practice is letting creative flow take the reins so the work itself leads to a topic or theme. She earned a master's degree at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 2017 and has been pursuing her private art practice ever since. She prioritizes art making that can exist within the restrictions of everyday life while breaking prohibitive boundaries to creativity.
